Russia's state atomic energy company Rosatom is in early talks to invest in Indian wind turbine maker Inox wind power, according to the Indian business daily Mint.
Earlier this year, Rosatom announced that Dutch Lagerwey had signed an agreement to license the wind turbine technology licensing unit OTEK. According to sources, OTEK hopes to build wind turbines in Russia, also have a place in the Indian wind manufacturing market and control the supply chain.
Inox wind power produces blade, cylinder tower, wheel hub, short cabin, etc. The current production capacity of the blades is maintained at 1,600 megawatts. The head of corporate investor relations Atul
In early August, Soni said that with less capital spending, the company would be able to lift capacity bottlenecks in the current short-span and hub of 1100 megawatts. The tower output will also be improved with minimum investment.
As of March 31, 2018 for the fiscal first quarter, Inox earnings from 4.35 billion rupees (RMB 452 million) dropped to 1.06 billion rupees (RMB 110 million), and from a year ago, 118.2 million rupees (RMB 12.29 million) net profit to 390 million rupees (RMB 40.56 million) after tax losses. The performance of the company has also been affected by the temporary decline in the market from the transition from a feed-in tariff to a wind-power contract auction system.
Inox expects the market to normalize in the fourth quarter. The 2018/19 fiscal year will be the start of a period of strong growth in the wind power sector.
