Shanghai - at the beginning of May, Oshkosh group, a leading global aerial work platform and telehandler manufacturer JLG (process) unveiled the ninth session of the APEX exhibition. The exhibition held in Holland, Amsterdam RAI Conference Center during the exhibition, JLG exhibited a series of advanced technology and innovative products, will further enhance the aerial production efficiency and reduce the total cost of ownership, improve construction site safety.
JLG carried out a static display on a rugged surface of an aerial platform concept machine designed to improve production efficiency. The self balancing chassis of this model can automatically adjust the equipment balance in vertical or horizontal direction according to the rugged condition of the ground. The self balancing chassis reduces the movement of the three wheel landing, allowing the device to remain driven on sloping or rough ground. The aerial work platform equipped with self balancing chassis can slope the slope of the working arm by a slope of 10 degrees, eliminating the need to reposition and gain more working time. In addition, since the chassis can be lowered to reduce the overall height of the device, it is easier to load, unload and transport. Over the same period, the transparent OLED display on the booth also shows the performance of the self balancing chassis in different conditions, such as through rugged terrain, flat truck unloading, and high altitude work on rough terrain.
The SkyGuard operator protection system is also one of the highlights of the JLG. Earlier this year, JLG announced that SkyGuard would become the standard accessory for all arm JLG platforms. Once the system is activated, the device will stop all operations immediately, while the components will reverse in the photo counter logic sequence. The reverse operation function is the first in the industry. The SkyGuard can be activated from any angle without blocking the operation or reducing the working range of the aerial work platform, providing additional protection for the equipment. It will not increase the size of the device and will not affect the operation of the platform. The system can be restarted by a foot switch or emergency stop switch, with no removable parts, without additional regular maintenance.
In addition, JLG has demonstrated another security oriented technology, the contactless enhanced detection system (EnhancedDetectionSystem, referred to as EDS), which is an upgraded version of the existing JLG soft contact system. Soft contact requires a toggle switch that stops movement of the equipment when it comes to an obstacle. The EDS uses advanced infrared technology to sense nearby obstacles. When a peripheral obstacle is detected, the EDS will slow down first and shut down the device before touching the barrier. When the arm or scissor aerial work platform is close to the obstruction, visual and audible alarms are provided to prompt the operator. No contact EDS, once shut down equipment, can only reverse operation. Unless the operator changes the system settings to move closer to the target to complete the work nearby. If the operator does not change the system settings, the device will always operate in reverse mode until the device is restored to normal operating mode until it is removed from the obstruction. Contact free EDS is suitable for aerial, aerospace, and other high-altitude operations requiring extra care.
In order to help reduce the total cost of equipment holders, JLG also demonstrated its remote information processing technology. With the help of stable visualization and real-time monitoring equipment, the connectivity improvement can effectively help the rental company manage the aerial work platform fleet. Through telematics, users can track equipment usage, including usage time, device diagnostics, fuel consumption, real-time alarm and error reporting, engine oil pressure and temperature, and theft. Operators can lease the equipment fault diagnosis, monitoring the ideal maintenance interval, reduce accident fault, efficiently communicate with technical personnel, so as to prolong the running time, improve time management, optimize the investment cycle, thereby reducing the total cost of the whole team.
In addition, JLG has demonstrated training services for future high altitude platform simulators. The simulator uses an advanced game learning model, similar to the video game experience, which allows the operator to be familiar with the handling of arm aerial work platforms and telescopic arm loading.
In addition to the forefront of technology and products, JLG also demonstrated the flagship models on the market at present, such as the scissor aerial work platform 4045R the first 14 meters high, the device is only 1.14 meters wide, compact body design ranks the first in the industry the same height models, suitable for the logistics center, storage space and a narrow aisle. The "H340AJ" hybrid arm platform is powered by diesel fuel and power systems, providing more permanent power than diesel powered equipment, saving energy and reducing carbon emissions.
