On April 15th, Zoomlion Heavy Industry's ZCC32000 crawler crane successfully assisted in the lifting of the dome dome of Unit 8 of Tianwan Nuclear Power Plant, marking the safe completion of the lifting work for the thin-shell steel lining dome of the heaviest nuclear power unit in China.
At 7:39 am on the same day, the ZCC32000 crawler crane slowly lifted the 208.84 ton dome ball crown to a height of 63 meters and smoothly controlled it to land on the upper mouth of the 56.869 meter steel lined ball belt. According to the construction plan, the installation of the dome of Unit 8 of Tianwan Nuclear Power Plant was divided into two lifts, and the dome ball belt part was successfully lifted and placed on March 13 of the same year. The dome dome crown of Unit 8 was successfully lifted into position, and the crown and belt were integrated, becoming an important barrier to protect the nuclear reactor.
The safety shell steel lining dome of Unit 8 reactor building at Tianwan Nuclear Power Station is a hemispherical structure with a diameter of 44 meters, divided into two parts: a ball belt and a ball crown, with a total weight of 601.37 tons. The steel lining dome of Tianwan Units 7 and 8 is currently the heaviest thin shell steel lining dome in China, and the installation accuracy needs to be controlled at the millimeter level. The difficulty of lifting is self-evident, and it is also a double test of the stability of the crane and the operability of the operator.
On site assembly construction was carried out using the set method (with the outer side being the ball belt and the inner side being the ball crown), and the main body of this lifting is the dome ball crown part. The hoisting of the steel dome in the reactor building is an important milestone in the construction of nuclear power engineering. The dome steel lining is the main component of the reactor building safety shell, located at the top of the reactor building. Its main function is to ensure the integrity and sealing of the safety shell inside the steel lining of the reactor building, playing a crucial role in radioactive containment.
The Tianwan Nuclear Power Units 7 and 8, as "benchmark projects" and "boutique projects", bear the heavy responsibility of optimizing the national energy structure. The two units are expected to be put into operation in 2026 and 2027, respectively. At that time, the total installed capacity of Tianwan Nuclear Power Base will exceed 9 million kilowatts, providing clean electricity of over 70 billion kilowatt hours per year, equivalent to reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 57.4 million tons per year.
